THE SUMMERSET VILLAGE OFFERING
Summerset provides homes for older New Zealanders enabling them to retain their independence in a community environment. Residents are able to access an increasing level of support and care within the Village should their needs change. This is fundamental to Summerset's continuum of care model which sees residents normally buy an ORA to occupy a Villa or Apartment and then should the need arise, to move to a Care Apartment or Care Bed with priority access. This continuum of care provides Summerset with a competitive advantage as it allows residents to remain within the same Village should their needs change.
ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS
Summerset provides a range of accommodation options for residents within each Village, including Villas, Apartments and Care Apartments. In addition, care facilities offer rest home and hospital level care.
All Villages are designed to provide a minimum of rest home level care, either supplied within a resident's Villa or Apartment, in resident funded Care Apartments, or in Village integrated care facilities.
LIFEMARK
Summerset's reputation for leading edge design, safe, secure and enjoyable retirement environments has been bolstered by the Lifemark which is only given to designs that pass a strict, independent review process and meet a specific range of standards around usability, adaptability, accessibility, inclusion and lifetime value.
A home carrying the Lifemark demonstrates that it has been specifically designed to ensure ease of use in the present time, while also ensuring the home is easily adapted to changing needs over the course of a lifetime.
Summerset in the Orchard at Hastings was the first retirement village in New Zealand to be awarded the prestigious Lifemark. Summerset is not resting on its laurels and intends that all of its new villages will carry the Lifemark seal of approval.
